7 x 5 mixed media

I finished another practice mixed media last night. This one I'm happier with, even with the mistakes. Today I'll start a practice canvas from Sharon's FACES class and see if I can maybe get that right....or close. I have to say that her class is wonderful and Sharon, herself and the members are all very nice and FUN!!
Click on the image for a better picture.
This is another mixed media, using torn security envelope pieces and a vintage music sheet, some portrait oil pastels for a dab of color and a wash of iridescent gesso for the background. The bottles are painted on with acrylics, the checks are stamped and the flowers and Flutterbys are cut from napkins. The striped border pieces are also ripped from napkins. Shading is a bit of paint & some marker here and there.

Totally beautiful, so complete and so mixed with many various mediums. I do love those bottles. Everything seems just right to me.

Thanks for coming by my blog, I hae to think of a way to do something about that rectangle of flowers. It may be too late, but I stil think of a solution.

Just now getting to some art, I had to clean a bag of stamps borrowed from the public library,
then we did a couple things in town, had lunch on a gift card, I had to tidy up my painting area, and run the vac. I am a tiny bit tired.
But there is a Hallmark special tonight I may want to see.

I have not done the photo tranfers yet for my beginning paintings with Sharon, only practice ones. I will catch up. I did a scetch at the table last night and the bloodroot flower will be the focus with a person. Well something to do is better than nothing.

We are having fun. Emelie

Ok, so to get that piece elevated to perfection you need to do only one thing - send it to me for display! :) Seriously. I love your work, even when you declare it a disaster. This is a wonderful piece of art that I would be honored to own should you decide that you wish to send it on. I'm not begging, really, not begging....
